We’re proud to deliver world-class content, and our goal is to bring Sky and partner content together into one brilliant TV experience — making it easier to access and delivering even more value to our customers.
Sky Marketplace is the go-to destination where customers can sign up, activate, and manage some TV apps on Sky Q, Sky Glass, Sky Stream, or through Sky.com and the My Sky app — all with the convenience of us handling the subscription payment.
Customers can access Sky Marketplace in a few simple ways:
Voice command: Say “My Sky” into the Sky remote
Menu navigation: Go to the My Sky section in the menu and select Sky Shop
App shortcuts: Select an app from the apps rail
Content discovery: Choose content from an app they’re not signed up for, and they’ll be guided through the signup process
Streaming TV
Sky Q
Customers can access a variety of apps through Sky Marketplace, including:
What a customer sees in Sky Marketplace depends on their existing subscriptions. For example, once they subscribe to an app and complete the activation steps, it’ll no longer appear in Sky Marketplace — unless, like Disney+, it offers different tiers that the customer can upgrade to.
Customers can now sign up and activate bundled apps (discovery+ and Paramount+) directly on Sky.com and the My Sky app.
Payment and billing
Payment is taken from the credit or debit card used at sign-up
The charge will be processed on the purchase date each month
For bundled apps (like Paramount+ with Sky Cinema or discovery+), the price will show as £0
Subscription and activation
Once a customer confirms their subscription, they’ll be prompted to create an account and activate their new app. All activation steps will be clearly displayed on screen.
If it’s a paid-for subscription and the customer doesn’t complete the activation step, they’ll still be billed.
Note: We see a high number of customers dropping out at the activation stage — particularly with free bundled apps, where up to 30% don’t complete activation with the partner.
Managing their apps
Once subscribed and activated, customers can manage their apps, including billing and cancellations, through:
The My Sky app
Sky Q, Sky Glass, and Sky Stream
My Account on Sky.com
If a customer has signed up for Paramount+ or discovery+ but hasn’t activated it yet, their TV subscriptions will show Awaiting activation. When they choose to activate, they’ll be redirected to the app’s website to create an account and complete the activation.
